ASOMA is the dance floor incarnation of London musicians Jake Long and Ben Hayes. With improvisational roots, they tease techno-infused electronic music from their modular synthesisers in real time, sculpting seismic kicks, grinding bass, and disorientating sonics.

Drummer, bandleader, and producer, Jake Long is one of South London’s hardest working musicians, behind astral jazz collective Maisha, and collaborating extensively with luminaries like Gary Bartz, Nubya Garcia, Joe Armon-Jones, Poppy Ajudha, and Jamie Isaac. Juggling parallel identities, Ben Hayes is both an electronic musician, signed to the legendary R&S Records, and scientist, pursuing a PhD in psychoacoustics and artificial intelligence.

Paying homage to the lineage of live techno pioneers from Jeff Mills through Karenn, ASOMA anchor themselves firmly in techno tradition whilst infusing their sets with a freedom and unpredictability that can only be acquired through years of improvised music experience. In the studio, their years of collaboration manifest in a unified musical vision: raw, focused dance music with relentless energy.
